Position: Application Engineer (Mechanical Engineering)

Position Summary
Sentek Dynamics is seeking an Application Engineer for our Kannapolis, North Carolina product demonstration, assembly and service facility. Our Application Engineers bridge deep mechanical expertise with strong customer-facing communication. This role requires a balance of technical aptitude and brand ambassadorship — engaging customers, supporting product installations, and delivering exceptional pre- and post-sale service. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, this position requires advanced understanding in mechanical and electrical engineering.

Job Duties

  • Design vibration test fixtures and analyze mechanical and electrical hardware for harsh environments, including dynamic and thermal conditions

  • Prepare test plans and execute tests on thermal chambers, hydraulic shakers, and electrodynamic shakers

  • Assist with the design and integration of servo control systems

  • Prepare technical proposals, reports, system drawings, and installation documentation in alignment with project milestones and delivery schedules

  • Provide pre- and post-sale technical support, including new product installations and ongoing support for existing installations

  • Attend product demonstrations and deliver technical presentations to prospective customers via web and on-site, as required

  • Engage with customers to understand their needs and identify appropriate solutions within the Sentek Dynamics product portfolio

  • Serve as an internal product expert and cross-functional resource

  • Collaborate with the sales team to meet and exceed revenue targets

  • Travel up to 25%

Qualifications

  • B.S. or M.S. in Physics, Mechanical Engineering, or an equivalent field

  • 3–5 years of relevant experience preferred

  • Strong hands-on mechanical skills required

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and SOLIDWORKS, or equivalent CAD software

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English

  • Professional, personable, and customer-ready demeanor

  • Vibration testing experience a plus, but not required

  • Available to begin full-time employment immediately

Position: Project Coordinator (Engineering)

Position Summary
Sentek Dynamics is seeking an engineering Project Coordinator for our Kannapolis, NC product demonstration, assembly and service facility. Reporting to the Operations Manager, this position requires an organized self-starter with strong customer, vendor and inter-departmental communication skills combined with basic technical and operations knowledge.

The Project Coordinator provides administrative and operational support for customer orders, inventory management, logistics, and project execution. This role works closely with the sales, engineering, service, and accounting teams to ensure customer orders are processed accurately, materials are available, and shipments are completed on schedule. The Project Coordinator helps maintain organized project records and supports the successful execution of engineering projects through effective coordination and communication.

Job Duties:

Order Administration

  • Review customer purchase orders and quotations to verify pricing, quantities, and order requirements.

  • Process customer purchase orders from the sales and service departments and generate confirming sales orders in the MO system.

  • Maintain accurate order records and ensure all required documentation is complete.

  • Track and update order status throughout production and fulfillment.

  • Communicate order status and delivery information to customers and internal teams.

  • Coordinate with accounting department regarding order status, invoicing, and payment milestones.

Inventory and Purchasing

  • Monitor parts and finished goods inventory levels.

  • Verify inventory availability to support customer orders and service requirements.

  • Prepare and issue purchase orders to vendors as needed.

  • Source materials and components with attention to cost, quality, and delivery schedules.

  • Maintain accurate inventory records and assist with inventory control activities.

Product and Customer Records

  • Maintain installation, warranty, and customer equipment records.

  • Track warranty expiration dates and preventative maintenance schedules.

  • Communicate warranty and maintenance information to customers and the sales and service teams.

Shipping and Logistics

  • Coordinate domestic and international shipments with customers, vendors, freight carriers, and customs brokers.

  • Generate shipping documents, packing lists, and shipping labels.

  • Schedule shipments and monitor delivery status.

  • Maintain shipping records and resolve routine shipping issues.

Administrative Support

  • Maintain project documentation and electronic records.

  • Assist operation team with project tracking and routine administrative tasks.

  • Support continuous improvement of administrative processes and documentation.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering Technology, Physics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field preferred.

  • One to three years of experience in project coordination, order administration, purchasing, inventory management, customer service, or a related role.

  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Customer-focused with a commitment to providing timely, high-quality service.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications and comfortable learning CRM/ERP software.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Bilingual in English and Chinese is preferred due to communication with international vendors.

  • Basic understanding of mechanical and electrical components is preferred.

Responsibilities
The Field Service Engineer will be responsible for post-sale customer support including, but not limited to, installation, and service (diagnose, repair, and maintenance) of Sentek Dynamics’ vibration testing systems and environmental test chambers. This position will also support the assembly and test of products during production. A strong sense of responsibility and initiative is required along with cooperation with other departments.

Job Duties

  • Support new customers with facility preparations

  • Installation and commissioning of equipment at customer’s facility

  • Provide the first line of support to existing customers

  • Support customer requests for service and preventative maintenance

  • Prepare and maintain warranty and customer support records and reports

  • Production support – assembly and test of new products

  • Support the sales team to meet sales goals

  • Travel required 50%

Qualifications

  • Extensive hands-on mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic experience; refrigeration and fabrication experience a plus

  • Must be an organized, self-starter capable of working with minimal supervision

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Computer literate with strong MS Office experience

  • Must be friendly, social, presentable and professional

  • Preference given to candidates with an ME or EE degree in combination with one to two years’ experience working on mechanical and electrical components and assemblies.
